KING’S LYNN SELF STORAGE
Frequently asked questions.

· What are your prices?

Prices are charged by the week and start from £10 per week and vary depending on the size of container and length of hire term. We guarantee to beat the price of any like-for-like storage facility in the area. Please call us on 01553 630150 for a quote.

· What are your opening hours?

We are open 9am – 5pm seven days a week. Customers have complete and unimpeded access to their containers during these hours.

· What if I need access out of opening hours?

Emergency access to your container out of hours can be arranged with prior notice but a small charge will be levied in order to cover our costs.

· Where are you?

We are situated on Innisfree Business Park in Bawsey which is just outside King’s Lynn. Please see the ‘Contact Us’ page for a map and directions.

· I want to store my household contents. Is KLSS suitable for me?

Absolutely. 75% of our customers are either between homes and are storing their contents with us or just making space in their lofts. The containers are suitable for any household goods including soft furnishings and electrical goods, as each container is completely watertight and has air vents which allow a steady passage of air into the container without letting in any water. Please refer to our ‘Storage tips and advice’ document below for information on the best way to store your goods.

· I want to store my business goods. Is KLSS suitable for me?

Of course. We welcome all business customers and our containers are suitable for the storage of all sorts of business items. Whether you are a builder who needs to store his tools and building materials or an office manager who needs archive storage, you’ll find that KLSS has the right solution for your storage needs.

· What security do you have?

We have a secure perimeter fence enclosing the entire site. There is only one access and this is totally secured and locked out of hours. The entire site is monitored by 24hr CCTV which is recorded off site.

· Do you offer insurance?

We do not offer insurance and it is the customer’s responsibility to provide insurance for their goods. However, if you contact your current home or business insurance provider and explain that some or all of your personal or business possessions are going into temporary storage, they will normally be able to provide extra cover for your goods whilst they are with us.

· What kind of lock do I need?

You will need at least one sturdy padlock to go into the main lock box of your container. Each container can take up to 5 padlocks. We sell a range of padlocks, but our customers are free to bring their own if they choose.

· What can I store?

You can store most things apart from anything illegal, dangerous or flammable including fireworks, explosives, petrol/diesel, gas bottles or chemicals. It is permissible to store vehicles in the containers and a 20’ container will accommodate a medium sized car. Any vehicles stored must have been drained of all flammable liquids.

· How do I pay?

For customers with an ongoing term of hire we ask for two weeks rent in advance and then we set up a standing order weekly from your bank. If customers know how long they will want to rent the container for and are able to pay for the full term in advance, we are often able to offer a discount (this applies only to hire terms of 3 months or more). We accept cash, cheque and all major credit and debit cards. Cheques should be made payable to ‘Grove Property Developments Ltd’.

· Are there any other costs?

No. Unlike other storage facilities who ask for a deposit and one months rent in advance, all we ask for is two weeks rent in advance and then your regular weekly rental after that. If however you do get into arrears, we will try to notify you and then double lock your container with our own lock. We will charge a fee of £45 to remove our lock and we will only remove it when the debt is paid in full.

· Do I have to fill in any forms?

Yes. It’s very simple, you just need to give us your contact details and sign the rental agreement. We also need two forms of identification – one with a photo of you and another with your address. If you are paying by standing order, remember to bring your bank details so that we can complete the mandate form for your bank.

· Is there a minimum term of hire?

Yes, one week.

· How do I end my term of hire?

Just give us 48 hours notice by phone, fax or email when you know when you will want to end your term of hire and make sure you have paid your rental up to date. If you have a standing order just phone your bank and ask them to stop the standing order from the date when your hire will cease.

· Do you offer van hire or a removal service?

Not at the moment, however we do work closely with local, reliable removal companies, so please call us for a            recommendation.
