1. Hazardous, Flammable & Dangerous Materials

These items pose serious fire and safety risks and are not allowed:

• Petrol, diesel, kerosene, lamp oil

• Gas bottles or cylinders (including propane & butane)

• Paint, paint thinners, solvents, adhesives

• Cleaning chemicals, acids, corrosives, fertilisers

• Aerosols, pressurised or compressed gases

• Motor oil, grease, or any flammable liquid

• Fireworks, explosives, detonators

• Toxic, radioactive, or biological materials

• Asbestos or items containing asbestos

👉 Easy rule of thumb:
If it burns, explodes, leaks fumes, or reacts to heat — it CANNOT be stored.

All machinery must be fully drained of fuel and oil before being placed into storage.

2. Illegal or Restricted Goods

We cannot store anything that is illegal to own or transport, including:

• Stolen goods

• Counterfeit products

• Smuggled or untaxed tobacco/alcohol

• Unlicensed or unsafe items (e.g., uncertified electronics, cosmetics, aerosols)

Weapons

Strictly no:

• Firearms

• Ammunition

• Blades or weapons

• Explosives of any kind

3. Cash, Documents & High‑Value Personal Items

For your own safety and protection, please do not store:

• Cash or currency

• Deeds, wills, legal documents

• Passports or IDs

• Valuable personal photos

• Securities or bonds

These items require specialist secure storage (e.g., a safe deposit box).

4. Food & Perishables

To avoid mould, pests, and contamination, the following are not allowed:

• All perishable food or fresh produce

• Open food, snacks, or pet food

• Anything that can rot, decay, or attract vermin

👍 Permitted:
Sealed, non‑perishable items (e.g., canned goods, bottled drinks, sealed wine/beer).

5. Plants

No living or dead plants.
They will not survive inside a container and will attract insects and vermin.

Gardeners are welcome to store tools, pots, and equipment — just not anything alive.

6. Animals

This includes living or deceased animals.

We do not permit:

• Animals in storage units

• “Holiday boarding” inside units (yes, people ask!)

• Any situation where an animal is left in a unit for any amount of time

It is unsafe, illegal, and cruel.

7. Rubbish & Waste

Please do not store or dump:

• Household waste

• Black bin bags

• Construction debris

• Damaged items intended for disposal

Your unit must be kept clean and tidy at all times.

8. People (yes, really!)

It is illegal and dangerous to:

• Live in a storage unit

• Sleep in a unit

• Use a unit as accommodation

• Allow anyone to stay inside

Units are not insulated, ventilated, or safe for occupation.

9. Running a Business From a Unit

You can store stock or equipment, but you cannot run a customer‑facing business inside a unit.

This means:

• No customers picking up goods from your unit

• No shopfronts, no trading, no staff working inside the unit

You can use the unit to store your business items, tools, or inventory.
